But that doesn't always work. So: let's drive in! Carefully. Slowly. And only with the front loosener, and only to open the soil downwards and ensure that the water can drain downwards. That was the only way to get the water out of the field.

And lo and behold? A week later, the water was completely gone. It had probably only lasted 1-2 days. And then the maize came after all, and it continued to grow and grow when it hadn't rained at all later in the season, because the roots had developed far into the soil and were supplied with exactly this water until the harvest, which had previously been too unsightly for the field.
